And because I knew it was going to be cold, I planned an indoor workout — including some swimming, which I have been really behind on (I’m hoping to do an Olympic distance triathlon in March). But wouldn’t you know, Junior had other plans! (Yes, the same pathetic mutt who guilted me into a pre-dawn run yesterday.)
There are mitigating circumstances … Faegan, Dear Dog 1 (from now on, DD1), had knee surgery on Thursday, and is on the animal version of “light duty.” No jumping on couches, no roughhousing with his brother, no stairs, no unleashed walks. Want to know how he feels about it all?

It’s hard to blame him. I’d be embarrassed, too, if THIS was on my leg:

Junior hasn’t really gotten the message that he can’t jump on his brother anymore, so I decided to take him on a long run to get him wiped out. Superdog that he is, 5 miles was not enough — I was ready to flop at the end, and he wanted more. No swimming for me today.
Anyway, I’m just getting back up to blogging speed after a break. I’m hoping to update my blogroll this weekend, to give some love to the bloggers who inspire me to keep running, and keep eating “real” food!
Here’s a quick shoutout for Sunday Baker, and a shameless giveaway entry. She just bragged about a new Web site called Photofiddle, which lets you turn photos into art. Looks pretty cool! Here’s a photo that I’d love to have made into art:

I love that photo and would love to see it turned into art! Poor, poor Faegan and poor poor Junior. You are such a good mom to keep running!
OK, so I am a cold wimp (only because I haven’t lived in the cold for a long time) so I think 55 and raining is a reason to not go running which I am recently trying to get in to. Good for you for taking the workout inside, and I am soooo happy you liked the pumpkin gnocchi! Balsamic brown butter sounds like a good addition to the dish.
