That was the start of an interesting hunt through my house on Sunday — a search that is complicated by the fact that we currently have a large hole in my master bathroom floor. Unlike Alice’s hole, this one leads to the ceiling of our first floor (follow me? The bathroom is on the second floor and the hole goes down to the top of the first floor ceiling).
The hole is necessary — we are renovating our bathroom, starting with the shower. And we’ve been pretty good about keeping the door shut. Pretty good is not good enough when you’re dealing with one of these.
My crafty kitty (we always think if he had a voice, it would sound like Stewie from Family Guy) snuck into the bathroom, got down into the hole and was crawling around the ceiling! We had to entice him out with some treats, and he’s fat enough already.
Other than that escapade, Sunday was pretty normal. I downloaded Jillian Michaels’ latest podcasts (you can find them here or on iTunes, but it’s actually pretty complicated — send me a message if you want help) to my iTunes and headed out for a nice long run. But because my legs were sore from my workout sampler platter on Saturday, I couldn’t do the 6 miles straight. I broke them down into intervals, running for a mile or a mile and a half, then walking a quarter mile and so on and so on. It was a longer workout than normal but it also meant I burned more calories. Yippee!
Jillian was pretty cool … she just has that no-nonsense attitude that somehow still comes off as caring. On The Biggest Loser, I still prefer Bob. But that’s because he’s such a stud. I think Jillian would kick my butt better.
After the run, we had to go to our second home. You know it as Home Depot. Santa’s gift card bought us all sorts of sexy supplies, like Wonderboard, plywood, pressure-treated wood and more. All the stuff we need to rebuild the bathroom, so stay tuned for updates.
Dinner was a random mix from the pantry — but all really good. Matzo ball soup, kitchen sink lentils, and turnip greens with turkey bacon and garlic.

All with my trusty sous chef at my feet.
He is so cute. No matter how tired he is, no matter how quietly I try and move, Junior always has to lay next to me.
Monday was a long day, but a good one … lots of really exciting things happening at GrowingBolder.com, and as sappy as it is, I feel like 2009 is going to be the year the world learns what I already know — it’s not about age, it’s about attitude. And it’s a good thing, because I just found another gray hair.
I’m re-reading “Eat Pray Love” while waiting for my new books to come in the mail. I thought I’d share this section.
I’m paraphrasing … a man goes to the same sculpture day after day, laying at the saint’s feet and praying to win the lottery. He asks over and over, “please, let this be the day I win the lottery! please, I implore you, help me win!” After months and months of the behavior — the sculpture comes to life and angrily says, “my son — buy a ticket.” (Sounds like a sign that I need to get in on Florida’s new Powerball!)
I read that section last night, and this morning, heard a story on CBS that took my breath away:

That’s the end of a very random post … the next one should be more focused!
PS Congratulations to See Bride Run’s Caitlin who is no longer a bride but a newlywed, and to Meghann for her beautiful recap of the day!
