Okay, all apologies to Aaliyah — it’s just that when I think of how many days have gone by since my last post, I start singing “It’s been a long time … I shouldn’t-a left you without a dope beat to step to.” And, as long as we’re being honest, I then do the sound effects out loud.
And tonight is a quickie, because it’s BIGGEST LOSER NIGHT! I tape the show while I eat dinner and get some chores done, and then I not only get to skip the commercials, but I get the show as a reward. I truly love it.
This season, I am pulling for Laura and Tara, because Tara reminds me of myself … in attitude, and in back story. Except for the modeling part. That was never me.
Who was SHOCKED at last week’s results? The cynical side of me thinks that the producers want to keep Carla and Joelle on because they bicker so much, and because they make my boyfriend Bob Harper nuts.
But I will leave you with this … several people have asked me to start posting recipes, so I will do that whenever possible. I typically try and take existing recipes, and tweak them to fit my lifestyle. So look for some new stuff in the coming weeks.
Also, I’m now finished with Day 4 of Jillian Michaels’ Making the Cut program.

When it’s done, I’ll post a full review — but I will say this about the book. The meal plans are AWESOME. They’re forcing me to eat breakfast and balanced meals through the day — every four hours and only four hours. I thought I’d be starving? Nope. The balance of fat, carbs and protein makes such a big difference. It’s taking some more planning and prep time than I’m used to, but so far — so good! And Lucas is eating the meals with me, because they are real food, just made with a specific balance in mind.
The workouts? Brutal. BRU-tal. But they seem to be working. After a frustrating set of weeks stuck at a plateau, I am down 2 pounds in 4 days, and I am sore in all the right places.
Again, much more on Making the Cut still ahead — if you have Exercise TV on your digital cable, you can check out the 30-Day Shred program, which is supposed to go hand-in-hand with MTC.
