I’m in Boston! I had a great flight from Orlando … I flew first-class on the way here. Not because I’m posh like that, but because I used frequent flier miles and that was the only class left. When I got to the airport, I had about a half hour to kill, so I thought I’d try to get into the first-class lounge.
After all, it worked during my honeymoon:
Delta's First-Class Lounge
Excuse the streaky hair and tired eyes … this was 48 hours after my wedding, and 24 hours INTO a delay. I needed that beer.
Anyway, it was a big-time fail. I walked up to the desk, all doe-eyed, and asked where I could get wi-fi. They, of course, asked for my ticket then, since I was not flying to an international destination, I was not allowed inside the lounge. Oh well.
(Sidenote — this made me think of that scene in “Friends” where Monica and Chandler spent the entire first day of their honeymoon looking for upgrades. I laughed out loud in the airport.)
But, after an uneventful flight — aided in part by “Julie & Julia” which is wickedly good and rings frightfully true to my own life — I touched down at good ol’ Logan Airport.
My darling mom picked me up and we grabbed a great lonchi, at a place called Big Fresh Cafe. Unfortunate name, fabulous falafel balls (I struggled with either a “that’s what she said” or Wipeout joke, but I’ll let you insert your own here):
And a tea that I am now obsessed with … Moroccan Mint. It was organic and green, which shocked me because I don’t usually like green tea.
With full bellies, we headed home … I haven’t lived here since the spring of 1998, and have only been back to visit sporadically. So I had that weird “stranger in a familiar land” feeling, where I recognized landmarks but had no context for them. Even at the house, there were lots of new sights to take in.
Some furry ones:
And some fresh:
In fact, there are so many amazing goodies to check out, from the spaghetti squash to the corn to the tomatoes to the asparagus to the asian pear tree to the … check out this gallery:
I am so jealous of this garden … and I can’t wait to start round two back in Orlando!
Okay, off to get beautified for tonight’s Healthy Living Summit cocktail party. Pictures and details to come!

I loved meeting you and your mom at the summit! I will be posting some fun photos tomorrow!
