Only the Good Die Young — and I am NOT That Good

by Katy on August 21, 2009

So I looked up while washing my hands today and thought I saw this guy:

But no, it was just me — shaggy-haired and in desperate need of a haircut.

Me as Owen Wilson

I cut my long hair a few months back and LOVED the short hair, especially during triathlon training. But I miss my ponytail, so I’m letting it grow out. This is the in-between stage.

Any day that starts with good food and great friends has to turn out well, and I got to hang out with this cutie:

Jamie Chocolate Milk

My friend Jamie, who proves you’re never too old for chocolate milk. My boss came along and they were all happy to let me snap pictures of the plates.

Mine, hers and his:

Omelet

Jamie's Pancake

Marc's Wrap

If you haven’t been to Peach Valley Cafe in Lake Mary, you really should:

Peach Valley Menu

Not only is it yummy food, but there’s a big bike/running trail out back, so there are always lots of triathletes around!

It’s been a weird food day. The office threw a Greek-themed lunch, and I had to sneak in and take some pics:

Greek Lunch

Greek Salad

Cheesecake

Chobani

It’s so funny to watch people when there’s free food available.

I headed home early (Thanks, Marc!) and got my snack on with (wo)man’s best friends:

Junior Carrots

Faegan Carrots

And then … I sinned. Please forgive me.

Mountain Dew

If I’m good 90% of the time, I get to be bad 10%, right? I hate to say it … but I loved this artificial, purple, full-of-chemicals Mountain Dew Ultra Violet. And sorry for the blurry photos, but I was too lazy to get my camera and snapped these with the iPhone instead.

What will help my laziness? A new goodie that is headed my way, courtesy of my favorite fitness blogger, MizFitOnline! She posted this video as part of a giveaway for the Lebert Equalizer:

And guess what? I.freaking.won. This bad boy comes at the perfect time, since I’m done with P90X and haven’t really started on my half-marathon training yet. Stay tuned for goofy pictures of me and Lucas trying to figure this thing out.

Y’all know I’m on Twitter, right? You can follow me here, and get all of my witticisms through the day. I’m starting a Food/Fitness Freaks list of people who are on Twitter, so if you want to get on it, leave me a comment and I’ll add you on! I’ll be posting the link here on the blog, and remember — I have the Healthy Living Summit bloggers listed on the right side of the page, in a special blogroll.

Okay, off to hang with my favorite boys. We’re thinking of seeing “Inglorious Basterds” this weekend. I’m willing to overlook a little Tarantino gore for a lot of Brad Pit.

What’s the best movie you’ve seen this summer?
