It truly is the sweet life, in so many ways. Let me show you how my life was extra sweet today!
I got up for a nice 6-mile run before work. I changed up my normal playlist routine to give MotionTraxx a try — thanks to Carrots ‘N’ Cake for the heads up!
MotionTraxx offers free playlists of trance-like music, all set to a specific number of beats per minute. There are playlists for half marathon training, fast runs, slow runs and non-running workouts. Free, people!
Got home and threw some organic quinoa in the oven, after seeing it in the Body + Soul magazine I received at the Healthy Living Summit, and also seeing it made by Caitlin and Sammie. That made for a very sweet lunch, when paired up with vanilla Oikos:
Had a very busy day at work, then headed to a great event called a SweetUp. If you’re on Twitter (like me), you’ve probably heard of a Tweetup, where people who know each other online meet in person. This was the same thing, but instead of happening at a bar, it happened at a wedding chapel packed with goodies!
That popcorn was the star — there were all kinds of flavors, like Ambrosia, Key Lime Pie, Sweet and Sour, Coconut and more. The store is called Kernel Encore, and if you’re in the Orlando area, you should check it out!
So, after my mysterious post yesterday, you guys had some pretty crazy ideas of what I was referring to. One person even thought I might be pregnant!
Truth is, Lucas is a finalist in a competition for a free trip to Portland, Oregon, where he could take part in a “cuisinternship” to learn all about brewing beer. As part of the application, he had to make a 2-minute video explaining why he deserved to win. Today, he found out that the application made it through and he’s a finalist, so check out the video here and PLEASE tell your friends and give the video a high rating! Even if he doesn’t win, the views and ratings could help win him some goodies.
Thanks, and have a sweet dessert for me!

That popcorn looks so fun!! My brothers brew beer. My sister in law just had a baby but when she was pregnant she used to yell and my brothers because the beer brewing smell bothered her A LOT.
Those desserts look delicious! I have been meaning to try the roasted quinoa since the Healthy Living Summit as well – perhaps this weekend.
Congratulations to your hubby! That’s exciting!
