Husbands are funny, aren’t they? I have dinner cooking away in the kitchen, and Lucas got this very thoughtful look on his face, then asked:
“Do you think they could make a cologne that smells like sauteed peppers and onions?”
It does smell pretty delicious. I’m making my super-easy, artificial sweetenerlemon-peazy Diet Coke chicken with the contraband soda that I let Lucas buy me during a weak moment this weekend. My name is Katy and I’m a Diet Coke addict. I’m also watching tennis, which is refreshingly civil compared to the last few days of Serena, Kanye and other badly-behaved celebrities.

Rather than bore you with my thoughts here, make sure you follow me on Twitter to get all my pontifications on pop culture through the day. Oh, and while we’re offering shameless plugs, please remember to rate this video that Lucas made to help him win a beer internship in Portland, Oregon!
I recently wrote a blog for GrowingBolder.com about my favorite fall shows, but I left out the shows that truly capture my attention — college football and NFL football. My Patriots just got started and it’s officially the best time of the year.
I wanted to give a BIG THANKS to all who commented on my Rock ‘N’ Run 5K recap — you guys are so sweet, and it’s support from friends like you that keep my feet pounding the pavement when I’d rather be in bed.
Speaking of bed — remember when Lucas found me like this the other day?
Today, it was more like this:
I walked in … dropped my bag off … and hit the couch. Hard. I don’t know what’s going on! I stopped drinking coffee in the morning, but that was almost two months ago, and it’s only recently that the fatigue has been coming on like a freight train at about 4pm every day. I slept for about 20 minutes before dragging myself up and slamming down a cup of coffee.
Any tips for beating the afternoon nap monster?
It may be that I’m still recovering from the 5K — Lucas says he is really sore and tired, too. I am used to much longer runs — 8, 10 miles — but not at the intensity I pushed myself to this weekend.
The rest of the weekend was filled with some good eats:
And some bad, unpictured eats — onion rings, turkey kielbasa, copious amounts of almond butter …
Plus, some carrots, which I had to share with my furry friends. Take a look at this slideshow, which is what it looks like from my perspective any time I get my dogs’ favorite snack out:
Faegan is so funny, and when Junior gets that close, I can see his poor little underbite … his bottom teeth just won’t stay under his lip.
I noticed when I went to start tonight’s post that it’s the 100th entry I’ve made. I started this blog more than two years ago, and after some starts and stops, it’s really become a resource for me, and I thank you ALL for reading and commenting. What can you get me to mark this momentous day in Silly Tater Tot history? Please remember to bookmark me or add me to your blog reader!

Congratulations on the 100 posts! You’re already in my reader
Hi Katy! I love your blog! I’m also from New England and living in Florida.
Before I found out I was pregnant, the same thing was happening to me in the afternoons, so maybe you are pregnant??
Congratulations on 100 posts! You deserve a nap!
Congrats, Katy! Your blog is hilarious and I love it! Sometimes, we just need to rest. Are you overworking yourself? No shame in taking a little power nap
Hi Katy! How many miles do you run a week?
