Am I the only one feeling a little overwhelmed by life? Don’t get me wrong — I have a rockin’ life and I feel very blessed for a great job, a fantastic family (my mom called me for Jell-O shot advice this weekend!) and lots of good stuff going on.
It’s just a lot.
Here’s one thing that’s helping: Lunchtime Zen.
You see, for years, I worked at a job that required me to work through lunch. I got pretty good at this routine:
- Fork to mouth.
- Chew, type. Chew, type. Swallow.
- Repeat.
Now I have a job that allows me plenty of time to actually take a lunch break.
Key word: BREAK.
But it’s taken me a while to take advantage of the time. So all week, I’ve been making a point of taking my Hugh Jass outside, with either a book or a book-on-iPod, and leaving the to-do list behind.
(BTW, If you’re looking for a good book, I just finished two, lent by good friend Jackie: Sarah’s Key and Loving Frank)
And I’ve even been doing some desk yoga! Ahhhh I can feel the peace set in already.
I found a new friend on today’s walk:
Shudder. I love Florida. And, if you can’t tell, that’s a snake. That’s as close as I could get myself.
It helps when you also have a snack to look forward to. I have discovered that if you make a Green Monster in the morning, freeze it until lunch then take it out, it will be a delicious slush by mid-afternoon snack time!
Blurry iPhone picture. Maybe the DSLR fairies will visit me sometime.
This is a random post, and Biggest Loser will be on soon, so it’s time to wrap up. Thank you all for your support (I read every comment!) and look forward to a fun announcement/eating challenge this Friday!
Hint, it’s with help from some of my favorite bloggers.

I made the jello shots (orange jello and mandarin vodka) but haven't tried them yet…waiting for hus to come home to sample them with me.
I get like that, but right now I feel there is a void. I am not training for anything and I'm single at the holidays so just kind of a bummer, but 3 weeks left of semester and I get a break
sick snakes. you're lucky that you have little ones. the ones in oz are huge and posionous. i scream when I see snakes..every time.
I'm pretty sure my mom doesn't know what a jello shot is. She loves a good margarita, but I recently had to tell her that it has tequila not rum in it!
Hard to tell, but maybe a pygmy rattler? Very venomous, but luckily their mouths are so small they would have a hard time biting something as big as us humans. Have a great day! Amy
Would it be mean if I said your green smoothie reminded me of poop?
I love that you're embracing your break! It's time for YOU!
I have been ignoring the blog world for a week because I was glued to that book by Dan Brown in all my free time! So good!
