You're a Food Blogger When…

by Katy on March 6, 2010

…You take an iPhone photo of your egg white puff at work because it came out so fluffy and delicious:

…You hang out with fellow food bloggers at an organic, fresh pizza place and talk about (what else?) food, running and photos:

…You don’t even think about ordering anything new because the last time you were at the restaurant, your pizza was so good you licked your plate clean:

And two of the sweetest bloggers in the group bring goody bags of vegan yummies to share!

…You schedule into your day at stop at the mecca — Whole Foods — and fill your cart with things most people can’t pronounce:

and actually squeal out loud at Crate & Barrel when you find spoons you KNOW will look adorable when taking pictures of your oatmeal because you’ve seen it before:

…When your husband loves his non-vegan, non-healthy, covered-in-bacon birthday cake so much he makes it himself to share with his buddies:

…When you find the treats you’ve been searching for for months and buy out the supply, then call your friends to ask them to track down some more:

…When you actually hesitate before making a cup of tea because these winter blends are like GOLD and you can’t get more until next fall:

…When you are secretly thrilled when your husband is away for dinner so you can make yourself something exotic from the stash you picked up at Whole Foods!

How do you know YOU are a food blogger?

P.S. Good luck to all the runners at tomorrow’s Walt Disney Princess half marathon!

I love this!

Lets see… I know I am a food blogger when…

New finds at the grocery store make my day
I now chuckle, instead of blush, when people notice me taking photos of my food
I have 4 different kinds of nut butters in my pantry and don't think it is enough
My boyfriend waits at the table for my “ok” to eat the food, just in case I needed another picture (nice guy)
My favourite movie is Julie & Julia
The first thing I do after checking my email for comments is check google reader!

AND I love those m&ms too!

Hey, Katie! It's the daughter end of your favorite mother-daughter pals from the Healthy Living Summit. For some reason, I just came across your Vegan Week post before realizing it was old and already typed a comment, so here it is anyway:
I'm pretty much vegan myself nowadays. I had meat for the first time in a while about a month ago and I actually had some stomach cramps after. It's not psychological because I never cut back on meat for “humane”/grossed-out reasons (bad as that might sound), but just because I was never a huge fan and, later, for health reasons. One majorly protein-packed, non-soy(!) vegan meat we've recently discovered is Field Roast Grain Meat — it's slices/sausages, etc., from vital wheat gluten, and is deliiiciously meat-y (http://www.fieldroast.com/products.htm).
Sorry for the book! See you at the next HLS?? PS- Check out the current promo/discount thingie on my blog. :)

Great post! And all so true. It was good to see you on Saturday, even if it was from the far end of the table!
