Have you ever thrown a party that you KNOW will be really cool…
…and then 5 minutes before the start time freak out that maybe no one who RSVP’d will actually show and you’ll be stuck with platters full of deli meats and cookies?
I had a panic attack at about 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday night, wondering if my idea for a health and fitness chat would actually happen.
Then, the clock struck 9 p.m. and I no longer had time to stress about IF people would show up, and instead had to figure out what to do with all the people that DID show up!

129 of you are now on the #Fitblog Twitter list, which you can follow here. (Tip: if you use Tweetdeck to monitor all of your replies, DMs, etc., you can add this list as a column, along with a search for #fitblog so you never miss a tweet!) I’ll continue to add names to it, so if you are a health and fitness blogger (or tweeter), let me know and I’d be happy to put you on the list!
Among the many great moments during our chat was a discussion on things that we’ve done recently that we’re proud of. Because I don’t think we’re often allowed to openly brag on ourselves, ya know?
And boy, did that open the floodgates…
It went on and on and on and I was so inspired and THRILLED every time a new “proud” tweet popped up!
Other topics we discussed:
- The definition of “healthy”
- Weirdest/favorite/least favorite foods discovered on the healthy living journey (green monsters and kombucha, anyone?)
- The move some magazines are making to get away from photoshopped, unrealistic models
It was a huge success and it’s all thanks to YOU and you and you…and 126 others.
What happens next? Same time, same place, Tuesday April 13th, 2010.
I’ll send out tweets, e-mail reminders and more, so I hope you’ll stop by and see what the #Fitblog chat is all about. And if you want to catch up on this week’s chat, you can visit the What The Hashtag? page here and search the transcript by date.

Can’t wait for next week!
I cannot wait to be a part of it next Tuesday. I was unable to attend this time. What a great idea you had!!!
Katy- thanks for organizing the chat – I had a great time and look forward to the chat next week!
Funny… I thought it was a regular thing that I just happened upon. What a great community of strong women. Thanks for letting my jump in! I’ll be there next week!
What a very cool idea. I missed this one, but I will definitely make it a point to catch the one next week!
I completely stumbled upon the chat last night. I’m so glad that I did. What a great experience – thanks again for moderating! Can’t wait for next week!
This was a brilliant idea. It went a bit fast for me at times, but I’ll still tune in
So many inspirational posts and tweets.
Emilie (love the way you spell your name, by the way!) I’m glad that we SEEMED like we had it together
Looking forward to seeing you next week!
Jess, thanks so much…it WAS fast and I’m trying to come up with some ways to make it easier to follow. Stay tuned, and keep coming with the feedback!
I loved it, awesome chat!!! So inspiring!
Slowing down the Refresh speed helped me make it more readable!
It was so fun and awesome, thought-provoking questions. Definitely like that everyone paused on your last question. Guess we all feel funny sometimes bragging about ourselves. Thanks for putting it together!
