It’s been a while since I shared some of the search terms that people have used to find my site…and since I’ve had a few heavy posts in a row, I thought we could use some humor, hey?
Note: I use a combination of StatPress statistics and Google Analytics to generate this info. I encourage you to do the same so you can see what people are using to find you!
Note #2: This doesn’t JUST have to be for fun. Consider using Google Trends to see what people are already talking about, and then either post about that topic OR share posts that you have done previously. For example:
- If you see Bieber Fever trending, why not share the post you did expressing your love for the Biebs?
- Or if people are talking about the latest Facebook lawsuit, why not make a post on what you would do if you owned half of Facebook?

I like checking the keywords/search terms often because in a way, it either validates what I’m blogging about (if people are searching my name or any of the words that make up my mission statement) or gives me ideas for things that people want me to blog about (the constant searches for bacon birthday cake won’t make me become a meat-eating baker anytime soon but still…).

I get CRAZY ones! I even did a post on them last week. I get “unicorn poop cupcakes” more often than I’d like to admit. And I’m not kidding.
Sometimes I wish I could find and respond to the searches, when I know my post didn’t andwer their question, but I easily could (“Does the GW Parkway Classic route have hills?”).

I think the funniest/most random keyword search I’ve seen on Google Analytics is “miniature schnauzer ate entire box of thin mints” hahahaha! Guess my love of my dogs and girl scout cookies is getting at least some people to me! Except… I also feel bad for that dog… urk.

“Blue Point plasma cutter” – My friend Dan made me a 26.2 medal with a plasma cutter
“marines hoorah” – My friend Matt is a Marine who flew Marine One – The President’s helicopter
I get “marathon runners with cameltoe” a lot. I hope I satisfy my readers
