What My Readers Have Taught Me About Blogging

(I promise, I had this post in mind and even scheduled on my editorial calendar before I read this fabulous piece by FANNEtastic Food, but it’s so similar I had to offer a hat tip!)

It has been a coocoo for cocoa crazy few weeks, and to be honest? I’m ready for a break! Lucas and I have started planning a fall vacation, and between that and the upcoming Fitbloggin’ conference, I have plenty of fun stuff to look forward to.

But I have had to make some concessions, especially where this blog and my non-full time work is concerned. Cases in point:

  • I was supposed to do a post on Monday about using LinkedIn to promote your work.
  • I was supposed to spend a few hours on Sunday working on my Fitbloggin’ presentation.
  • I was supposed to spend a few hours on Saturday getting ahead on my #Fitblog Chats on Twitter moderator outreach.
  • I was supposed to go to yoga on Friday night after work.
  • I was supposed to soak beans on Friday to get ahead on meal-planning for the week.

What did I do instead of ANY of those things this weekend?

Why?

You, my readers, have taught me that life is for LIVING. Not blogging. And you’ve told me that you want quality over quantity. That it’s OK to take a day or two off. And most importantly, that you’ll stick around even through absences.

A few other things you have taught me over the years:

OK, you haven’t helped me learn that one yet. But I’m hoping these faces will help excuse my less-than-informative post today…I promise, I’ll be dropping some serious knowledge on you in the coming weeks!

  6. Jena says:

“life is for LIVING.” AMEN. This has been my philosophy for the last several months. Maybe it’s because the world has been so crazy lately, or maybe I realized that being a sourpuss doesn’t pay off. Maybe it’s because spending money is way more fun than saving money. Maybe it’s my Hubs philosophy that “it’s only money, you can’t take it with you.” .. Who knows, but I’ve been really enjoying life lately.
