Meet my very favorite zoo creature: the Zebu.
I love all of the animals, but this guy has a special place in my heart. We’ve been visiting him for years and I still feel like a little kid when I feed him.

glad to know i’m not the only one with an obsession with strange animals! i have to say that i don’t like ANY animals in zoos, but i did recently get to see two big beavers at our desert museum here in tucson and i was beyond excited . . . they are pretty much my fave at the moment. must research the zebu now-hadn’t even heard of it!
Awww, this post made me smile. I used to LOVE going to the zoo and hanging out with the goats in the petting area. So much so that my parents actually got a couple of mini goats as pets when I was in middle school! They had such fun personalities and were so friendly.

We bought a year pass to the Detroit zoo this year and every time we went we made sure to see the polar bears. They have this tunnel you can stand in and the bears and sea lions swim over the top, my kids loved it.

I instantly started singing the Zebu Song from Veggies Tales when I read this post? Does anyone remember that song? Sick Zebu is rowing and sneezing…achoo moo moo achoo moo moo achoo moo moo moo moo moo moo.
Yes, I just wrote moo that many times. And also, I really believed that a zebu was a ficnational animal made up by the Veggie Tales creators because Larry the Cucumber could not say everyone has a water buffalo. I really hope there is a fellow Veggie Tales lover out there, otherwise I’d feel really silly.

Animals are awesome.
I absolutely love elephants. I can watch them all day long. I also like cows, I like to visit the calves at a local dairy. My husband teases me about the way I stare at them, but hey, it’s worth it…one time I was invited inside the barn to visit with a bunch of really young calves. I must have 100 pictures from that day

I love river otters and the games they play together.
I love Zebu too. There is a Veggie Tales song about it and I am singing it in my head now.

This post brings back fond memories of my Dad taking me to Old MacDonald’s Farm in Norwalk, CT. We’d see all the animals, but my favorite were the llamas, which were considered really exotic back then (late 60s).
