Ahhh…the end of my 4-day weekend is approaching, and that’s a bummer. I didn’t have any super special plans — no traveling; no parties — but I really did enjoy the opportunity to spend some extra time at home (and with Lucas, who had Saturday off for the first time in forever!).
So, my unconventional Christmas weekend included:
Yoga, where I met the cutest dog (don’t tell my boys) and came close to overcoming my fear of the handstand…but not quite:

Cheese, cheese and more cheese!:

And LOTS of yard work — we’re xeriscaping!:

It will be a while before we’re done — we have rocks around the tree, and we need to fill in the rest of the space with ground cover plants, small shrubs and more mulch.
We got some wonderful gifts, too, and had a wonderful Christmas day.
Now it’s the countdown to 2012…I can’t believe how close it is!

Oh, Katy, the front yard is looking GREAT!!! I like it!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! (collective sound of all of us remembering we have to head back to work in the morning. I know we love our jobs and all, but I could use another day or two

I’m so happy to be off until the 3rd! I love that my office closes the week between Christmas and New Years. Extra days off for the win!
Your front yard is looking great! I hope you post pictures of the final product. I managed yoga on the 23rd and 24th- but the studio was closed on the 25th and the timing didn’t work today. I’ll be back tomorrow though. My goal for this time off is to do yoga as much as possible. It is something I’ve been lacking in the last couple of months and I’m trying to get back in the habit!
Enjoy the last of your time off!

My thoughts are: If you are asking this question that means you are likely 1) not naturally unconventional and/or 2) in an entertainment industry area that doesn’t necessarily scream unconventional.

I love the unconventional holidays (shocking I realize)
ours was a quirky as we are a trio.
Ah, Christmas yard work…one of the often overlooked traditional holiday activities. Ha! I think your unconventional Christmas sounds absolutely lovely!

So glad my husband is off until the 3rd. It’s like a mini vacation! Too bad we’re using most of it to get stuff done that we’ve been putting off for far too long.
