Five for Friday

We’ve just kicked off a very cool project at work and — (((blushes))) — I helped launch the website. It’s something that I think you guys might dig, because it’s all about celebrating birthdays by committing to health and fitness.

It’s called the Growing Bolder Challenge, and you can learn all of the details here. It’s inspired by this guy:

I won’t be doing 1,200 push-ups for my birthday, but I’m thinking maybe a 32-second handstand in honor of turning 32? Guess I gotta actually get a 1-second handstand first.

  1. holy MOLY I missed a lot this week.
    click away to read….

  2. Very cool concept for the Growing Bolder Challenge. Love the idea of getting people moving. The site looks great too.

  3. oohhh, are you building a table for behind your couch like young house love did?!? if so – awesome. if not, what is that wooden structure behind your couch that your dog is in?!

that photo is so cute, by the way. what is it about dogs that makes them want to crawl into small spaces. my dogs always end up getting stuck/confused and we have to help them out.

    • Good eye! Yes, Lucas designed and built something based on YHL…I’m so excited about it! But we keep calling it Faegan’s squeeze box (in honor of Temple Grandin) because he goes there when he’s scared!

  4. Every time I read that the headstand is one step closer to a handstand I shake my head. I’ve been doing headstands for years, and all that’s gotten me is better at doing headstands. I bet I could stay up there for minutes. But, once my arms get thrown into the mix it is all over.

  5. Just thinking about someone doing 1200 push-ups makes me want to take a nap. What a neat idea though!

  6. do you know how happy it makes me that you leave my blog name in lowercase?

    i love you.

happy friday! i can’t do a 1 second hand stand, either.

    and gosh, i love underbites.

  7. Fantastic idea Katy! I have tons of respect for people that help others get the best out of their lives. The website looks great! keep at it and all the best for the Growing Bolder Challenge :)

  8. Thanks so much, Katy!!! Love your “fave” five. :) -S.
