I don’t do a lot of these blogger memes or Q&As, but when Ashley tagged me in this one, I thought it was a great way to share some things about myself that might surprise you. However, I am breaking the rules. I’m not tagging anyone else and I’m only answering her questions to me (not the other series).
When you’re done, let me know — which surprises you the most?
1. Would you rather be an Olympic athlete or win American Idol?
This is a tough one — in high school, I was really into drama and thought I might pursue musical theater. That dream quickly went the way of my passion for journalism, but I still get excited goosebumps when I think about performing.
The Olympics would be incredible, but I don’t have the same passion for a particular sport that I do for singing.
2. If you could live in any US city, which would it be?
I used to think it would be Seattle, because I love love LOVE the city. But I am not sure I’d love living there as much as I enjoy visiting. My family is from New England, so I’d consider Portland, Maine or maybe somewhere in Massachusetts.
3. What was the first blog you ever read?
The first blog I ever read…wow! It was so long ago that it’s hard to remember. But I imagine it was Eat Like Me, the Self.com blog that sparked so many food and healthy living blogs.
4. Would you rather bungee jump or sky dive?
I would never in a million years bungee jump, so I can rule that one out. I doubt I would sky dive, either, but if I had to pick one…
5. What was your favorite CD in 7th grade?
Seventh grade was, what — 12 years old? 1992 was toward the end for New Kids on the Block, so it probably wasn’t that one. I was pretty into rap and hip-hop in those days, so it was probably Arrested Development. “Tennessee….Tennessee?”
6. What is your favorite movie?
The Cutting Edge. End of story. No comparison. Toe pick.
7. Mac or PC?
Mac, baby!
8. If you could fly anywhere in the world, free of cost, where would you go?
Australia. My grandmother was born and raised in Sydney and I have extended family that I’ve never met. I would love to get to know them and learn a little more about that part of the world.
9. Who was your first kiss?
Sigh…Phil, a fellow summer camper. I fell hard for him, with his skateboarding coolness and knee-high socks. I think it was during “Stairway to Heaven.”
Although, I do have this cute picture from when I was a kid:
10. Sandwich or salad?
Tough call. Salad, if it has a ton of toppings.
11. Country music or rap?
Rap, rap, rap…but I do admit to loving me some country, too.

I think of you every time I see the Cutting Edge on TV!
Fun! Stairway to Heaven… ah, such memories!

I’m glad there’s someone else out there who loves the Cutting Edge, too! Such a great movie, I think I’ve watched it 200 times! Oddly, no one that I’ve introduced to that movie finds it as enjoyable as me
The Cutting Edge – I thought I was the only person in the world who had seen that movie. Ha ha!

I LOVE The Cutting Edge! It’s been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. It’s such a classic in my family that my sister and I were each given our own copies of the movie when we left home for college. We even get a kick out of incorporating lines from the movie into everyday conversation.
I loooove Seattle too. When I visited, my first thought was “I could live here.” But I think if I could pick any city, it would be Reno. I have some friends that live there and it’s amazing. So pretty and fun and so many outdoor activities going on.
LOL to Cutting Edge. I used to have a crush on D.B. Sweeney.

My first kiss was to Stairway to Heaven too! I was 15 and in love/lust with a senior boy at my high school. And then he kissed me at my birthday party.
Those eleven things about you got me thinking about the same things. I’ve always wished to go for bungee jumping and am in love with Michigan.
Thanks for sharing.

Man, some of these would be hard to answer! I have no clue what my favorite CD was in 7th grade! In fact, I don’t think I even had CDs then, I think it was cassettes.

Simple but groovy …. “facts about Katy!” I always feel too timid to do these “tests.” Ha.
Hey girl …. you need to frame (enlarge BIG!) that absolutely adorable kissing pic! Just totally supercute!
I LOVE the Cutting Edge. Best movie!!!
I grew up in Seattle and now I live in Portland. Sometimes I miss Seattle, but it’s a better place to visit I think.

I love Cutting Edge as well. I’m not an ice-skating fan etc, but saw the movie at a time when I needed comfort and have seen it a number of times since…
