If you’re like me, you change blog looks more than you change hairstyles.
(Wait, that’s a bad example.)
But I have always thought of my website as a bit of a sandbox — a place to test new widgets, tools, etc…all so I can pass them on to you!
And that’s why I’m so in love with The Wayback Machine.
It has archived versions of lots of websites — from small blogs to big companies.
For example:
My blog on September 24, 2010

My blog now

Mashable.com on July 15, 2008

Mashable now

NYTimes.com on February 1, 2003

NYTimes.com now

I think this could be really fun to play with, especially for businesses and companies who might want to look back at how far they’ve come and show their fans.
(I looked at GrowingBolder.com‘s transformation — WOW!)

You’ve just made my day! I have often mentally kicked myself for not being smart enough to take screen shots of my blog and how it has evolved. It might sound crazy, but I nearly teared up being able to see how it looked in 2008, when I first started. So many memories. Screen shots – check.
Thank you for sharing this amazing tip!

I LOVE the Wayback Machine! I first learned of it probably 5 years ago as an investigative reporting tool. It’s a lot of fun to play with though too!

That is such a cool tool! My blog still looks exactly the same, since I just recently started it. But I’m loving seeing what other websites used to look like.
