My girlfriends and I are getting together for a fabulous weekend in Boston in a few days — it’s part 10-year college reunion, part baby belly touching opportunity, part bachelorette party (my BFF is getting married!) and part any-excuse-to-hang-out-and-gossip.
I can’t WAIT, especially because my traveling days are limited…at 27 weeks pregnant, I’m looking head to a new life with no vacation days, no “fun” budget and no patience for what flying with an infant entails. Certainly no 2-week trips to Europe.
But I had to laugh when the email came in:
Just checked the weather for Sat… sunny and high of 79!!!!!! Woohoo!
Because above all, this weekend will be a welcome break from the absolutely stifling heat of Florida. Now, as I said on Friday, I do think it’s better to suffer the sunny weather down here because everything is air conditioned, but for real, Mother Nature. It’s time for a break.
It’s too hot to walk at lunch. Just being outside for 10 minutes makes me feel like I’m swallowing wet air.
It’s too hot to sit outside for more than a few minutes without jumping in the pool (that goes for my poor puppies, too).
It’s too hot to be anywhere without a full water bottle, and I’m already prone to multiple potty breaks in an hour.
It’s too hot to leave the house without a really good reason.
So, yes, 79 sounds pretty perfect to me these days.
How hot is it where you are?

As someone who has changed a diaper in an airplane bathroom, all I can say is this: does anyone know a good hypnotist that can make me forget the experience of changing a diaper in an airplane bathroom? I still have bad dreams!
I wish it was hot here! It’s only 57 in Glasgow and I can’t remember when I last saw the sun. It’s very humid and ick here however, and it seems like its been raining for weeks. I will take any sun I can get!
man it has been hot here! wish I had a pool to dip into. But had a rain storm yesterday, so that was a nice change.
I just got back from a trip to Boston – enjoy! I love that city SO much!
You look pretty Katy! Never realized your hair was so light. Love braids!
Everyone knows how hot it’s been in Illinois also ….. just awful-terrible heat waves. Our ac’s have been running forever so it seems. Today is a bit better. Wish I had a pool to jump into w/my poochies!
Boston is always great. Lots to do, see and definitely take long walks. So many marvelous restaurants.
Katy, for sure, you and the gal-pal will get fab exercise walking, walking and more walking. Can’t wait to see a few photos.
Enjoy the trip!
115 right now. But it’s a dry heat :-p
79 degrees sounds pretty awesome. As does the whole trip. Have a great time!
My cousin just came and visited me from Sweden. He stepped out of the airport and said, “I’m going to die in this heat!” … it was 7pm and 74?. He was in for a rude surprise the next morning
(I’m from RI. It’s hot and HUMID up here!)
