I have become a podcast addict. I listen to them while I work, while I’m driving in the car, during my nightly walks, to pump me up through workouts (when I’m not listening to these hype-up songs, that is) and even now, as I type this blog post.
In the last few years, I’ve had the great pleasure to help launch and nurture some podcasts, too. Many of them are on the list below, marked with an asterisk, and I hope you’ll check them out.
Also, I know that you have some awesome podcasts in your list that I should know about — so many sure you let me know! Just fill in the blank here and tweet me your picks:Hey, @kwidrick, my favorite podcasts are...Click To Tweet
But if you’re looking for a few absolutely awesome shows, along with a few hidden gems that are still up and coming, here are my picks!
I truly listen to and love every single show I’ve included here. But there are some standouts that are appointment listening for me. The moment a new episode comes out, I download it and listen to it that day. (Others, I let queue up and then I binge listen!)
Here are those VIP shows.
Regan Jones hosts this show and even if she weren’t my friend and a client, I would tell you that this is one of my absolute favorite shows. This Unmillennial Life is “the podcast that offers a roadmap through midlife for women who’ve fallen into a generation gap” and whether it’s eyelash extensions and boosters, the elusive full night’s sleep or CrossFit — yay or nay — this show always makes me laugh and learn.
This should surprise nobody who knows me…I am a super fan of The West Wing Weekly, just as I am a super fan of The West Wing.
Joshua Malina — who starred in this and my beloved Scandal — co-hosts with Hrishikesh Hirway and they break down each episode in depth, often with show creator Aaron Sorkin, members of the cast and crew or real-life politicians who admit that they, too, are super fans.
Nicole has been a great friend of mine over the years and I love watching her grow and succeed. Her Blissful Bites podcast is a great mix of interviews with entrepreneurs, marking and business tips and more. Even if you don’t sell a product or work in the food industry at all, I think you’ll really enjoy and appreciate this.
Love, love, love. So much goodness, and again — the tips and stories that Bjork shares are just fantastic, and the show is produced in a way that just makes it so fun and easy to listen to.
Danielle and Jamie are my friends. My sometimes-lawyers. Some of the smartest and funniest people I know. And their podcast is a MUST LISTEN for anyone who is an influencer or wants to become one.
John and Sherry are beloved in the blogging world, and the podcast just showcases their personalities and expertise so well. I love the interviews, the little games they play, the lifestyle and DIY tips they sprinkle throughout and all of the small but really smart production choices they’ve made with the show itself (hello, occasional sound effects).
I work with FitFluential and I’m an ambassador, so I find myself immersed in this content through the week. But just look at the list of interviews that Kelly has done — so many big names! — and you’ll see why this is one of the must-listens for me each week. The Podcasts You NEED (Plus, Hidden Gems You'll Love)Click To Tweet
