This post is sponsored by New Balance and while you’ll see some professional New Balance models featured here, don’t be fooled — the super pregnant lady in the blue shirt and red jacket is me. Just like my opinions are all mine. You can always review my disclosure policy here!
Let me count the ways:
- A New England company, whose products are made in America
- Internal and external policies that support MOVEMENT in all forms: running, dance, working out at the gym
- Adorable and trendy clothes that actually fit real body types (I’ve worn New Balance through multiple sizes and two pregnancies)
- Awesome customer service and customer relations
- Truly dedicated employees (I’ve met so many of them at expos and running events and not once have I met someone that’s not dedicated to his or her job and truly enthusiastic about the company)
So whenever New Balance comes a-calling, and asks me to try out their latest gear? I say YES.
First of all, you need to check out their Fall 2015 catalog for women.
Between the fabric, the new cuts that are super flattering (the red jacket I’m wearing below has these beautiful cuts and ruching right around my “problem areas” and is so soft) and the light material, I think you’re going to find more than a few things you’ll like.
I got to pick a few items, and New Balance also sent me a few surprises. In all, I tested:
- NB Heat En Route Jacket
- Tenderly Obsessive Bra
- Printed Capri
- Fashion Tank
- Mesh Panel Tank
- NB Ice Short Sleeve
- 3.5in Accelerate Short
Far and away, my three favorites were the jacket, the printed capri pants (in sea glass) and the fashion tank (in sea heather).
Just as a heads up — the bra I got was an XL and still did not contain my upper lady parts…which are even more crazy because of pregnancy. But I’d size up.
Yes, the clothes are adorable. And comfortable. And held up great through a barre class, yoga, walks to and from daycare and an at-home bootcamp.
But more than anything, I just love the message, and the female athletes who are showcased in the catalog. It’s all about constantly “being in beta,” and reinventing yourself and pushing your limits. The “models” featured are real athletes (and you can actually use your smartphone to interact with the catalog to learn more about the people featured). They’re women who are overcoming obstacles, constantly trying to reach bigger, bolder goals and they’re doing it in a way that’s inclusive.
That’s the type of role model I want to be. Doing what I love, because I love the way it makes me feel. Making it easy for people to join me. And remembering that people are always watching and learning from your actions more than your words.
So I leave you with this final message from New Balance, which gives me the chills:
